Using cutting-edge video streaming technology, you'll engage with your instructors and peers in real-time.<p>Holmesglen provides you with the latest industry software, including the renowned Amadeus system, to gain hands-on experience in a live airline reservations environment. Throughout the course, you will explore the world through engaging destination studies, learn to sell impressive tourism products like cruising, and master the art of delivering exceptional customer service.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the SIT40122 Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism, learners must be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of the program.<p>Mature attitude and approach to study; good communication; organisational and technical skills; ability and desire to work face to face with customers; smart presentation and grooming; and ability to work well under pressure and within a team environment.<p>Prospective learners should have proficient computer skills to effectively participate in scheduled virtual classroom sessions using WebEx video conferencing software. Additionally, learners should feel confident in learning new software applications and have a genuine enthusiasm for the travel and tourism industry.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

3 days per week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 9.30am to 4.00pm. In addition to the scheduled class time, you will need to complete online learning activities and independent study in your own time (approximately 15 hours per week).<p>To receive this qualification, you must complete 19 units in total, comprising of 7 core units and 12 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.<p>If you have previously completed other eligible units, these may be counted towards the completion of this program.

Additional Course Cost

Students are required to provide a PC or laptop (less than 5 years old) equipped with a video conferencing camera and a stable high-speed broadband internet connection. <br> <br>The estimated total cost for these items ranges from $600 to $1,000.
