Entry Requirements

To be eligible for mandatory clinical placement, learners must:<br>• Be 18 years of age or older at course commencement<br>• Submit a completed Immunisation Record by Week 4 of the course, including evidence of required vaccinations<br>• Hold a valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)<br>• Complete a valid Employee National Police Check, issued within 3 months of placement start (as instructed by the Clinical Placement Office)
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, all applicants must complete a formal Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment and participate in a Pre-Training Review (PTR) interview. These steps are used to determine course suitability and identify any early learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

Classes are held at Holmesglen’s Moorabbin Campus and run three days per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.<p><strong>Course Duration and Delivery</strong><br>The course is delivered over 17 weeks of classroom-based and online learning, followed by a compulsory 2-week industry placement. Delivery includes a combination of:<br>• Teacher-led sessions<br>• Simulated practical activities<br>• Online learning tasks via Holmesglen’s Brightspace platform<p><strong>Units and Qualification Requirements</strong><br>To achieve this qualification, learners must complete 15 units in total, consisting of:<br>• 7 core units<br>• 8 elective units, carefully selected by Holmesglen based on industry feedback and staff expertise<p><strong>Industry Placement</strong><br>Holmesglen organises the industry placement, which usually occurs at the end of the course. During this placement, learners will:<br>• Apply their skills in a real healthcare setting<br>• Gain hands-on experience<br>• Complete workplace assessments
