Throughout this hands-on course, you'll develop practical skills in infection control, patient care, and administrative duties, as well as assist dentists, dental prosthetists, dental therapists, or dental hygienists during oral health care procedures. You will also gain experience in recognising and responding to oral health issues, maintaining oral hygiene for patients, and ensuring the smooth operation of a dental practice.<p>Training will take place in purpose-built facilities designed to simulate a real dental workplace. You will be involved in preparing patients for dental procedures, preparing dental materials, processing X-rays, using suction devices and water sprays, performing routine maintenance on equipment, sterilising, and preventing cross-infection of equipment.<p>The training is carried out by our highly qualified dental staff.<p>The course also includes important skills such as communication, first aid, infection control, work, health and safety processes (WHS), and working with diverse people.
You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
