The 22639VIC Certificate II in EAL (Access) helps learners from non-English speaking backgrounds improve English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for everyday life, community participation, and workplace readiness. You will develop skills to respond to texts, write simple documents, use correct grammar and vocabulary, and refine pronunciation. The course provides pathways into English language education, vocational training, a combination of both, or employment. Studying the Certificate II in EAL (Access) at Holmesglen

Studying the Certificate II in EAL (Access) at Holmesglen, you will develop essential English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills to succeed in everyday life, community participation, and vocational pathways. Experienced teachers provide guidance and support through practical exercises, interactive activities, and online resources. You will gain skills in:<p>Responding to simple texts in different genres such as information and instructions<p>Conventions of writing simple texts<p>Features and conventions of simple written texts and conversations<p>Simple text and grammatical structures<p>Supporting communication and refining pronunciation<p>Using simple vocabulary for different purposes and contexts<p>Eligible AMEP clients may access tuition fee-free. Completing this course prepares you for further English study, vocational training, a combination of both, or employment.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 18 years old. As per the AMEP Service Providers Guide youths under the age of 18 are expected to enrol in school, in line with the compulsory school age legislative requirements of their respective state or territory, regardless of whether they meet AMEP eligibility requirements.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.<br>These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
