Sara Terry (student) - Winner

Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management

Passionate advocate for the exchange of cultural knowledge and practices, Sara is intent on exploring the relationship between culture and ecosystems. She leads Noongar language workshops for primary schools, using songs to engage children and share the rich traditions of the southwest Aboriginal people of Western Australia.

In 2024, Sara was selected as a Birrurung Ranger, where she received professional development in waterway monitoring and attained her General Fire Fighting Accreditation. Her involvement in this program reflects her commitment to both cultural preservation and environmental stewardship.

Sara has contributed to the development of future Narrap projects, presented at the 2024 Victorian LandCare Awards, and represented the Narrap Rangers as a panellist at the From the Ground Up Film Festival.


Glenda Llatas (staff) - Winner

Faculty of Education and Foundation Studies

Glenda is a passionate and dedicated teacher who has built her career from the ground up in Australia, drawing on her own migrant journey to deeply connect with and inspire her students.

With many years of service at Holmesglen, she has become an integral part of the TAFE community, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of her students -especially those from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Known for her magnetic presence and inspiring approach, Glenda has earned a reputation as a teacher who can spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster a love of learning in every student she works with. Her adaptability and forward-thinking mindset make her a true asset to both her students and the wider educational community.
