Andrew Yarde

Technology Services

Andrew has been a dedicated member of Holmesglen’s Technology Services Department (TSD) for over a decade, making a significant impact on both staff and students through his expertise and commitment to service excellence. Beginning his career as a Help Desk Analyst, Andrew has grown into his current role as an Enterprise System Administrator, where he plays a vital role in supporting the Institute’s infrastructure and critical systems that underpin teaching and learning.

He exemplifies the qualities of a positive role model through his dedication, professionalism, and his ability to lead by example. He is adaptive and agile and promotes embracing of new technologies to improve efficiency while lending his expert guidance to foster a supportive learning environment.

Andrew’s ability to anticipate challenges and respond with effective solutions makes him a unique asset to the Technology Services Department and Holmesglen. 

Carly Gilligan

Faculty of Education and Foundation Studies

Carly is a dedicated and experienced educator with extensive knowledge of the industry, including roles as an EAL AMEP teacher, ELICOS teacher, CELTA Teacher Trainer, and international teacher trainer. Her professionalism and depth of expertise are evident across all settings.

Whether teaching Certificate II EAL students or presenting to seasoned educators from overseas, Carly consistently demonstrates excellence. Her commitment is unwavering, and she maintains a high standard of delivery regardless of her audience. She truly embodies the best qualities of a Holmesglen teacher.

Each year, Carly coordinates the Biggest Morning Tea at HELC, aligning it with the EAL Framework to enhance student learning. The event brings together multiple classes and is supported by dedicated colleagues, ensuring its ongoing success.

Katalin Mindum

Engagement and Support

As Branch Manager of the Holmesglen Moorabbin Library, Katalin leads operations and provides strategic planning for the library’s continued development. She ensures resources, staffing, and IT infrastructure are maintained and enhanced to support the effective delivery of services at the Moorabbin campus.

In 2024, Katalin was awarded the Holmesglen ASPIRE Hero Integrity pin and is a member of the Holmesglen Environmental and Sustainability Working Group, actively supporting sustainability initiatives across the institute.

Katalin played a key role in the 2024 refurbishment of Moorabbin Library, collaborating with Property and Technical Services to introduce three new student discussion rooms, responding to high demand from learners.

Melissa Couchman

Faculty of Hospitality, Environment, Lifestyle and Business

Melissa has established a solid foundation for the successful delivery of Holmesglen’s VETDSS programs in 2025. Her exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills reflect her commitment to the role, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently.

She manages a large student cohort with confidence and precision, demonstrating excellent coordination by working effectively with various stakeholders. Melissa takes initiative when managing significant responsibilities, always keeping student outcomes at the forefront of her work.

Her high standards in maintaining accurate documentation and system integrity are commendable, especially given the volume of work she handles. Melissa’s contribution plays a vital role in the department’s overall performance and deserves recognition for supporting both operational excellence and student achievement.
